The Workplace problem
All humans make associations that are made between different qualities and social categories such as race, gender, or disability and sometimes, judgments are made without conscious awareness. These automatic preferences or stereotypes are a major contributor to creating social and structural exclusion and a lack of workplace inclusion.
In My Shoes is a Virtual Reality experience exploring Unconscious Bias in the Workplace with the aim to create an awareness of how micro-aggressive behaviours create social and structural exclusion. By learning from the lived experiences of diverse communities in VR, employees are immersed in a safe environment, in a manner that drives empathy by being in the shoes of another.
